Three provincial roads that depend on the Córdoba council cut off traffic, in the north, south, and central areas, and five complete marshes, which are overflowing water, mark the first impact of Storm Laurena passing through the province of Córdoba.
Therefore, as reported by the Córdoba council on its official «X» profile and according to the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT) on its traffic incident information portal, both consulted by Europe Press, the intensity of the rain caused the rivers and streams to overflow.
As a result, since approximately 8:30 a.m., there has been a total traffic disruption on the CO-4207, in this case, due to the overflow of the Salado River, between Montilla and Montalbán, at kilometer 5+450, at the request of the Civil Guard.
At the same time, the CO-3310 is also closed to traffic, in this case, at kilometer 9+500, at Mochos, in Almodóvul del Río, while the CO-7409, from Villaralto to Dos Torres, is also closed to traffic, at kilometer 4, due to the overflowing Guadarram River.
On the other hand, according to the website of the Guadalquivir Hydrographic Confederation (CHG), consulted by Europe Press, there are five marshes in the province that have reached or even exceeded their capacity and are overflowing with water.
This is the case of the San Rafael de Navallana reservoir, which is already at 100.79% of its capacity, as well as the Sierra Boyera reservoir, which exceeds 100% of its capacity, while the reserves in Guadanuño, Guadalmellato, and Bembézar are also coping with the excess water.
