Andalucía presenta la Primera Estrategia de la Agroindustria para fortalecer el liderazgo del sector.

Andalucía will soon have the First Agroindustry Strategy for the 2025-2027 framework, promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, and Rural Development in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mines. This strategy aims to improve the competitiveness of the agroindustry in the region, consolidate the sector’s leadership, and promote balance in the agri-food chain. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture, Ramón Fernández-Pacheco, at the gala of the XI Gastronomic Awards of the Friends of the Holy Kingdom Association in Jaén.

Jaén and the agroindustry linked to olive groves (including the Andalusian biogas alliance) are part of a strategy that has taken into account the needs and demands of the market. The Junta has developed the strategy through a fluid and constant dialogue with all the economic and social agents involved, who have actively contributed initiatives, ideas, and objectives.

This strategy has been developed within the framework of the Social Dialogue Forum to promote synergies between the public and private sectors. It focuses on issues such as human resources, internationalization, sector structuring in the Andalusian economy, commitment to the circular economy, promotion of quality designations, and the use of innovation and technology to achieve the objectives. It also analyzes the regulatory framework in which it operates, as well as its alignment with the main objectives and programmatic documents governing current policies.

The strategy is part of the GROW Industry Action Plan 2027 in Andalucía, through which specific actions will be developed in the agri-food industry with a focus on innovation and new technologies to strengthen the industrial value chains of Andalucía and attract investors.

Landaluz, a reference entity

For the development of this document, in addition to trade unions, employers, and other entities, the work of Landaluz has been invaluable. Landaluz is a reference entity in the Andalusian agri-food sector, representing 70% of the turnover, and has become the main exponent of the quality designations of Andalucía and the Gusto del Sur brand, the Andalusian seal that currently has the participation of more than 150 entities and 386 product references.

The success of the strategy relies on the work of agri-food cooperatives in Andalucía, an entity that understands the reality of the agroindustry sector and has highlighted the needs that must be met for this strategy to be fair, equitable, and essential in the region.

The agri-food sector in Andalucía is one of the most dynamic in the region’s economy and is a leader in exports with over 14.368 billion euros in the first eleven months of 2024, although there is still room to achieve greater competitiveness and profitability for the excellence of the work done and Andalusian products.

XI Amigos Santo Reino Awards

The ‘Friends of the Holy Kingdom’ Gastronomic Awards annually recognize restaurants and professionals in categories such as ‘Best pairing’, ‘Best dish’, ‘Best chef’, ‘Best restaurant’, and ‘Special mention of the members’.

At the gala, professionals from various fields who represent Jaén are recognized as ‘Honorary Members’. In this category, for example, the music group Supersubmarina and the writer Jesús Maeso de la Torre are acknowledged.

Likewise, there is also a recognition for the ‘Honorary Awardees’, who in 2025 are the former footballer and football coach Luis de la Fuente, an award presented by the Minister of Agriculture, coach Santi Denia, former footballer Jesús Nava, and winemaker Raúl Pérez.
