The President of the Junta, Juanma Moreno, has announced that Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) will continue to host the Spanish Motorcycle Grand Prix until 2031 thanks to the agreement reached with Dorna Sports, promoter of the World Championship, allowing Andalusia to establish itself as a host of world-class sporting events, also in the field of motorcycling.

This was communicated by Moreno, who attended a new edition of the Spanish Motorcycle Grand Prix in Jerez this Sunday. «We will continue to enjoy this Grand Prix in Jerez until the period 2027-2031. This great bond between Jerez and this event, which has borne such good fruit, is already a classic that will continue to be a reality,» he detailed.

«Today it’s motorcycles, but yesterday it was the Copa del Rey. And so many more… Andalusia reaffirms and consolidates itself as the home of major sporting events, for example this weekend with two very classic, very iconic cities that project an exact image of what Andalusia is, such as Seville and Jerez,» the President congratulated.

Juanma Moreno congratulates Los Palacios’ rider José Antonio Rueda, winner of the Moto3 race.

«The circuit has made a huge effort to improve in all areas: connectivity, transportation… An event that continues to break attendance records, with over 200,000 spectators, with a huge economic impact. We are very happy to continue enjoying an event of this caliber,» Moreno assured, accompanied by Dorna’s CEO, Carmelo Ezpeleta.

The Jerez Grand Prix is one of the most special and high-profile events in the world of motorcycling. A calendar where Andalusia has its own place, with a modern circuit and a fan base that fills its stands every year.

It is worth noting that a significant investment has been made in safety and circuit renovations to ensure the Grade A homologation that allows it to continue hosting MotoGP world championship races, including new run-off areas in corners to enhance rider safety, the remodeling of the VIP Tower, new grandstands, and the renovation of the main entrance gate.
