The Centro de la Creación Contemporánea de Andalucía (C3A), located in Córdoba and under the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Junta de Andalucía, presents the concert ’82, 4 Hertz, a mystical of obedience. The evocation of Fátima de Córdoba, will take place on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 8:00 p.m. In the black box of C3a, with free admission until capacity is reached.

The activity, as reported by the Board of Directors in a note, is part of the first season of the «exploratory» cycle, curated by Bruno Dozza and Miguel Álvarez-Fernández, and specifically, the proposal brings together Aglaya González (Viola), Susana López (sound Artist, under the alias of Susan Drone) and Raac, Raac, Guataano (Susana López (sound Artist, under the alias of Susan) and Raac, Raac, Guataano (Susana López (Sound Artist, Under Alia of Susan) and Raac, Raac, Raacano (SUSANA LÓ Sesame Drone), and Raat Quantizan (guitar), in Sesame Drone), and Raatozano (guitar), in Sesame Drone) and Raat. A program that connects contemporary Andalusian Mystic musical thought.

The program starts with the piece «Prólogo» (1976), by the French composer Gérard Grisey, a key figure in spectralism, a movement that emerged in France in the seventies that transformed musical language through the analysis of sound spectrum and processes of acoustic perception.

The «prólogo» is built from a note, a serious 82.4, which becomes the starting point for the entire concert. The piece, written for Viola only, will be performed by the violist Aglaya González, a professor at the top conservatory of music in Seville, who has already participated in the first session of the «exploratory» cycle.

With «prolonged» as a reference, the concert continues with a new creation specially designed for this occasion by the Murcian Sound Artist Susana López, «Susan Drone». The work is conceived as a tribute to Fátima de Córdoba, the mystical Andalusian breather from the 12th century and the Arab master IBN, and «Susan Drone» develops her work in the field of «drone music,» a solid practice based on sustained notes that generate highly complex and dense acoustic packets.

On the other hand, the Sevillian guitarist Raúl Quantazano incorporates his experience with the prepared flamenco guitar, an instrument of his invention that was central to his proposals of free improvisation, sound art, and experimental flamenco.

His career includes collaborations with artists like Elche Niño, Rocío Márquez, Los Volule, Andrés Marín, or Beñat Achiay. As emphasized by the «explorers» commissioners, ’82, 4 Hertz, not only offers this concert title but articulates it as a macrocomposition based on the micro-exploration of the insufficient acoustic mysteries hidden in what seems like just a single note.

This collaboration in three voices articulates a deep auditory experience, where different musical languages, historical times, and cultural approaches converge. From spectral research to experimentation, the concert is a proposal where solid research suggests an almost ritual listening.

The C3A «Explorer» proposes a space for sound research and experimentation in which musical dialogues with memory and transformation. The first season of the cycle, «Meditations around the strange,» explores the evolution of cultural and geographical boundaries that transcend sounds. This program has the collaboration of the top music conservatory Rafael Orozco de Córdoba.
