The Consejería de Salud y Consumo de la Junta de Andalucía allocates 3.350.000 euros to a competitive call for research and innovation aimed at promoting scientific practice in health during 2025. The Boletín Oficial de la Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) publishes the first call of 2025 from the Secretaría General de Salud Pública e I+D+i en Salud, aimed at granting funding for biomedical research projects and in Health Sciences with three modalities, one of them general in nature, another aimed at research in primary care, regional hospitals, and high-resolution hospital centers (CHARE), and a third for research projects in health public-private collaboration.
In the first modality of general projects, with a budget of two million euros, studies whose objective is the generation or acquisition of knowledge in the area of Health Sciences of a general theme will be funded, in which researchers from one or more research or innovation groups can participate. The maximum duration of these studies will be three years, and grants of up to 133,100 euros will be awarded.
Regarding the public-private modality, this call establishes the funding of works that also aim to generate or acquire knowledge in health areas, but with the participation of private entities in the execution and financing. The maximum duration will also be three years, with funding of up to 480,000 euros. The amount subsidized through this modality will be a maximum of 50% of the final budget, with the private entity participating in the project having to provide at least the remaining 50%. This modality combines the potential of the healthcare system (its infrastructures, the high qualification of its professionals, the development of R&D+i according to health priorities…) and the private sector (new methodologies, experiences in other territories, continuous innovation, etc.).
This modality, with a total budget of one million euros, requires the signing of a collaboration agreement or a covenant between both parties reflecting all conditions.
Finally, as a notable novelty, the Consejería de Salud y Consumo directly calls for a modality of projects in primary care, regional hospitals, and high-resolution hospital centers (CHARE), allocating 350,000 euros for projects primarily developed in these centers. The duration will be three years with a maximum amount of 48,400 euros per project.
