El programa ‘Andalucía Sinfónica’ reúne a casi 7.000 espectadores en su primera gira por la comunidad

Concierto de la Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga (Archivo).

The program ‘Andalucía Sinfónica’, promoted by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, in collaboration with the Unicaja Foundation, has encouraged the four institutional orchestras of Andalusia, the Córdoba Orchestra, the Granada City Orchestra, the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Seville Symphony Orchestra, to embark on their first tour across the entire community, attracting 6,833 attendees to their 16 concerts.

These figures are reflected in the balance of this cultural program, which included eight concerts in 2024 and another eight performances in the first half of this year. The initiative kicked off on September 26 at the Casa Colón auditorium in Huelva with a concert by the Seville Symphony Orchestra (ROSS) and concluded on June 7 at the Cádiz Congress Palace with a performance by the Córdoba Orchestra.

With this concert in the capital of Cádiz, the first tour of Andalusian orchestras throughout Andalusia was completed, fulfilling, as stated by Councilor Patricia del Pozo, «one of the commitments of the Andalusian Government to bring a program of excellence to all corners of the community. We have responded to an aspiration that arose in the 90s: to bring symphonic music to provinces without institutional orchestras

Minister of Culture, Patricia del Pozo, at the presentation of the ‘Andalucía Sinfónica’ program (Archive).

In parallel, Del Pozo noted that this program, extended to all eight provinces, and which has seen «remarkable success» in its first edition, «has been the result of collaboration between the private and public sectors, with a strong cultural interest benefiting the entire Andalusian territory.» The Minister of Culture expressed her gratitude for the support of the Unicaja Foundation in this regard.

In this inaugural tour of 2024/2025, the concert by the Granada City Orchestra in Huelva on January 11 stood out, attracting 820 attendees. Following closely in terms of audience numbers were the concert by the Granada City Orchestra at the Maestro Padilla Auditorium in Almería with 777 spectators, and the performance by the Seville Symphony Orchestra at the Villamarta Theater in Jerez, which drew 689 people.

In this first edition of the ‘Andalucía Sinfónica’ program, the concerts took place at the Maestro Padilla Auditorium in Almería, the Casa Colón Auditorium in Huelva, the Infanta Leonor Theater in Jaén, the Congress Palace Auditorium in Cádiz, the Villamarta Theater in Jerez, and the courtyard of the former University in Baeza.
