The Minister of Employment, Business, and Self-Employment, Rocío Blanco, has inaugurated the facilities of the new ‘Jaén Urbana’ employment office, in the capital of Jaén, a new space that covers an area of almost 1,300 square meters, on a single floor, in which the SAE has invested over 2.9 million euros, including a grant from the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) of around 867,000 euros.
This new headquarters, larger and with more technical resources, is a reference for the transformation process of SAE offices, more accessible and adapted for a more personalized service, Blanco noted, and has all the telematic tools implemented within the framework of the agency’s Integral Management Model to provide users with greater autonomy and facilitate procedures related to job demand and services to companies.
Blanco, accompanied by the Government Delegate of the Junta de Andalucía in Jaén, Jesús Estrella, and the mayor of the municipality, Julio Millán, among other authorities, highlighted that ‘Jaén Urbana’, which serves around 9,000 job seekers, is an example of telematic management of services related to demand, renewals (94% were done through the ‘app’, the SAE website, and employment points) or re-registrations (over 25,000, 91% telematic).
The ‘Jaén Urbana’ Employment Office is located at the intersection of Catalina Mir Real Street with Antonio Muñoz Molina and Pintor Rafael Hidalgo de Caviedes, and is a sustainable building, energy efficient and accessible, with larger waiting rooms and group meeting rooms for job orientation and selection by companies. The center accommodates a total of 39 technicians from the Andalusian Employment Service (SAE) and the State Public Employment Service (SEPE).
The Minister of Employment explained that, in the next two years, her department plans to invest 3.3 million euros in the improvement and transformation plan of employment offices in the province, out of a total of 25 million planned for all of Andalusia, of which 14 million are already budgeted.
Likewise, Blanco emphasized that the implementation of new telematic tools and digital services related to job service demand and services provided by the SAE to companies have provided office technicians with greater availability of time and resources for personalized attention.
Similarly, the Minister of Employment referred to the improvement of digital service tools, such as the new Internal SILA Portal (Andalusia Labor Intermediation System) or the implementation in offices of the Statistical Profiling system, which, inspired by artificial intelligence and Big Data, will allow technicians to make training and employment recommendations to each individual, taking into account their characteristics and those of the labor market. The pilot plan to implement the Statistical Profiling has already started in 36 employment offices, with the goal of completing its implementation throughout the network of 193 branches by 2025.
With this tool, she added, «we have positioned the SAE at the forefront of job orientation, transforming data into opportunities and offering a more effective and personalized service to those seeking employment in Andalusia.»
Along the same lines, to improve the service that the SAE provides to companies, technological tools are being finalized to fully deploy a new service portfolio, which has been incorporated into a new website, focused directly on services for individuals seeking employment and companies needing to find professionals. The new portal SAEempleo.es integrates all digital services for individuals looking for work and companies or entities looking to hire, offering personalized information, guidance, and access resources to improve both employability and hiring levels, as explained by the Minister.
Visit to the special employment center of APROMPSI
After the inauguration of the new ‘Jaén Urbana’ Employment Office, the Minister of Employment visited the facilities of APROMPSI, a reference entity in the province for its work over more than 60 years in the labor integration of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. During the visit, she highlighted the Junta’s commitment to their work, reflected in an investment of over 1.5 million euros in the last three years: 515,881 euros through the Andalusian Employment Service (SAE) for their professional orientation unit, and 1,024,761 euros for their Special Employment Center.
Rocío Blanco also took the opportunity to inform about the new call for employment assistance for people with disabilities, endowed with 110 million euros, of which 11.7 million are allocated to the province of Jaén. This line of incentives, with five support modalities -three for Special Employment Centers and two for regular companies- will remain open until June 16, aiming to promote indefinite hiring, job adaptation, and the removal of barriers to employment access to move towards a more inclusive labor market with rights.
