The Ministry of Educational Development and Vocational Training will open from June 15th to the deadlines to apply for a place in one of the training cycles and specialization courses offered in Andalusia for the next academic year. The process can be completed entirely online on the Ministry’s Virtual Secretariat.

For the 2025/26 academic year, the department headed by Carmen Castillo will offer a total of 18,195 new vocational training places with public funds in the province of Córdoba, 6,216 more than six years ago, representing a 52% increase, as reported in a note.

In Andalusia, this number rises to 168,447, of which 1,460 are newly created. This increase «strengthens the efforts of the Board of Directors,» which in the last six years has created «47,552 new places in Andalusia, representing an increase of almost 40% compared to 2018.»

Additionally, for the upcoming academic year, there will be a total of 3,773 training cycles and specialization courses, 31% more than in 2018, with a wide range of different degrees up to 197, from the total national catalog, that is, 87%. Innovative training cycles have been incorporated in traditional and emerging sectors, with a special focus on rural areas.

The ministry has reorganized the offer to better meet market needs, «as 20% of places have become vacant during the current period, even in cycles with high employability.» In this way, for a more efficient planning, an analysis of the situation was carried out to advance more in terms of supply quality and not quantity.

To achieve this, an offer was designed with 81 actions that include 39 new training cycles and specialization courses; Eight groups of groups in high cycles and courses; Eleven increases in training cycles, replacing basic level offers with an average or high medium level, and 13 adaptations of cycle offers to the productive fabric, focusing on more competitive cycles, with low demand or low employment.

In the province of Córdoba, the Ministry has approved eight new authorizations: one for basic level, three for medium levels, one for specialization courses, and three for specializations. Out of these eight new authorizations, four of them are offered for the first time in our province. These include the average title of construction, at IES Seneca (Córdoba); The specialization course of average level of floral art and floral, at IES Galileo Galillei (Córdoba), also found in Andalusia, as well as the specialization course for the development of applications in the Python language at IES fiierra (Córdoba); and the top specialization course for the technical inspection and performance of sinistters in vehicles at IES Zoco (Córdoba).

The basic level of commercial services was also authorized at IES Fernando III El Santo (Priego de Córdoba); The average level in networks and water treatment plants, at IES Antonio (Palma del Río); The average welding and boilermaking degree, at IES San Roque (Two Towers); and the top automotive degree at IES Antonio Galán Acosta (Montoro).

With these new authorizations, the aim is to favor territorial balance and promote economic and social development in areas with lower population density, providing vocational training in these environments and strengthening the local productive fabric for growth and cohesion.

Another major challenge is the training of future graduates capable of joining the Earth Army logistics base, without neglecting the rest of Córdoba’s business fabric, whose diversity and dynamism require a solid, flexible, and sector-specific training response.

A single district

In complete offer applications, applicants must indicate the cycles and centers they choose, ordered according to their preferences. A computer bar process, automatically assigning places. It is a procedure with two awards for basic, medium, and high levels, awards that will be on July 10 and 21.

After each assignment, a registration period opens. After the second award, the entire complete supply process will operate exclusively with waiting lists, where applicants will be included behind any application submitted within the deadline.

Additionally, between June 15 and 30, is the deadline to apply for all FP teachings regarding modular offers, whether face-to-face, semi-face-to-face, or virtual. In applications for this type of offer, applicants must indicate the professional modules they opt for, up to a thousand hours. On July 17, a single award is given, with a registration period between July 18 and 23, and then the squares are distributed on the waiting list.

Regarding the percentage of positions available for those wishing to continue their professional itinerary, in high classes, 40% will be reserved for students coming from an average degree, while for high school, the percentage is 45%. In this way, several places are guaranteed for students already studying vocational training, so they can have a complete itinerary.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

To guide Andalusian students in the demand process, the ministry has implemented a tool developed with artificial intelligence, optional to use, which offers applicants a real estimation of their chances to obtain a place in the desired training and central cycle, classified as very high, high, medium, low, or very low.

The system, explains, has been trained with data on admission processes from the last five years, allowing the algorithm to calculate probabilities with high precision. More than 48,000 applicants used this service in the 2024 admission process.

This tool, developed as part of a project co-financed with funds from the Feder 2021-27 Framework, is available on the Virtual Secretariat when completing the admission application for medium and high-level training cycles and only for applicants registered in the Andalusian educational management system.
