The Minister of the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue, and Administrative Simplification, Antonio Sanz, has chaired the Coordination Commission of the Local Police of Andalusia, where he announced that on Tuesday, May 27, the preliminary public consultation that marks the beginning of the process of drafting the decree on the uniformity and technical means of the local police forces of Andalusia will be published on the electronic portal of the Junta de Andalucía (transparency/ drafting of regulations section).
A decree that will update the basic personal equipment, vehicles, facilities, defense means, modalities and use of uniforms, complementary garments, insignia, and distinctive signs, among other aspects.
Likewise, Sanz has announced that the decree on the recruitment, internal promotion, mobility, training, and unified call for the civil service personnel of the Local Police Forces of Andalusia is following the necessary procedures and will go to the Consultative Council as a preliminary step before its approval by the Government Council.
The minister explained that both decrees develop the Local Police Law approved in July 2023 by the Andalusian Parliament and that arose from «the need to update and improve the previous regulation, which was over two decades old and, as you know, will definitively bring our Local Police Forces into the 21st century.»
«With this regulatory development, we continue to take a qualitative leap for our local police officers, responding to the needs and demands of municipalities and police forces,» he pointed out, not without first thanking the work that the Local Police does in Andalusia.
