The Diputacia de Córdoba joined in the commemoration of World Social Work Day, emphasizing the work of professionals who strive to «promote intergenerational solidarity.» The event took place at the Palacio de Merced, where a ceremony was held to recognize these professionals, as part of an event celebrated under the theme «strengthening intergenerational solidarity for a lasting well-being.»
Irene Aguilera, the delegate for social rights at the provincial institution, inaugurated the event organized by the official Faculty of Social Work, highlighting that «this year focuses on the importance of caring for and respecting the elderly.» She stated, «They possess the wisdom and experience necessary to thrive in harmony and build a better society.»
The President of the Provincial Social Assistance Institute emphasized the importance of working to promote intergenerational solidarity. He stated, «Taking care of society and the environment, so that coexistence, economy, and the environment are the result of everyone’s conscientious work, regardless of age.»
Aguilera expressed gratitude for the activity of the Professional College of Social Work in Córdoba, which this year recognizes the work of Rosa Serrano Tranado, a member and worker at IPB since 1993. She has contributed to social work in Palma del Río, Hinojosa del Duque, and Peñarya. Additionally, retired professionals from 2024 were also acknowledged during the event, and a roundtable discussion focused on advocating for the public addiction system.
