The international energy company Moeve has joined the first Andalusian Pact for Conciliation and Co-Responsibility promoted by the Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families, and Equality with the aim of promoting a «culture change» in all sectors of society regarding the distribution of tasks and care responsibilities. Minister Loles López and the Director of Human Resources of Moeve’s Energy Parks, Jesús García Arieta, have signed this agreement in Palos de la Frontera (Huelva) that seeks real and effective equality.

The Andalusian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FAMP), the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Andalusia (CEA), the Association of Self-Employed Workers (ATA) Andalusia, the public universities of Andalusia, and Sevilla FC have already joined this pact. The Andalusian government allocates 44 million euros to implement 55 initiatives across all ministries.

López emphasized that «Moeve, a company committed to Huelva, mobility, and sustainable energy, is the first major company to join this pact» and thanked their commitment, which she described as an «honor» and expressed confidence that they will be «an example for other Andalusian companies.» She also noted that this signing «gains more relevance considering that the industrial sector is a highly male-dominated field.»

She also stressed that «without conciliation and co-responsibility, there is no real equality», explaining that «the goal of this pact is to instill a cultural shift so that in the future, boys and girls understand that care and tasks should be shared by both partners. Conciliation is not just for women; it involves men and women across society.»

On the other hand, the Director of Human Resources of Moeve’s Energy Parks stated that «at Moeve, we are committed to creating a work environment that promotes the balance between the personal and professional lives of our employees. Joining the Andalusian Pact for Conciliation and Co-Responsibility of the Andalusian Government is a significant step in our mission to promote gender equality and the well-being of our employees. We firmly believe that fostering conciliation policies improves the quality of life, productivity, and overall well-being of our workers. We are proud to be part of this initiative and look forward to actively contributing to its success alongside the Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families, and Equality.»

The Mayor of Palos de la Frontera, Milagros Romero, praised Moeve for being the first company to join the Andalusian Pact for Conciliation and Co-Responsibility and indicated that they will continue to set an example in conciliation, as they have done in other areas. She also highlighted that for many years, Moeve has provided women with the opportunity to develop professionally and thanked them for their willingness to participate in projects and activities related to equality, youth, and other necessary groups.

Actions for Equality

Committed to the well-being of its employees, Moeve has been working on innovative policies for years to facilitate the balance between work and personal life. These measures include flexible working hours, telecommuting options, and wellness programs that promote physical and mental health. Through these initiatives, Moeve seeks to not only increase satisfaction and productivity among its team but also establish a more inclusive and sustainable work environment.

This business group has a total staff of 11,090 employees, of which over 39% are women. Additionally, 31% of leadership positions are already held by women. The company stands out for its generational diversity, with five generations represented and an average age of 45. Furthermore, 1.83% of its workforce consists of individuals with disabilities. Moeve has been awarded the ISO 30415 Diversity and Inclusion certification by AENOR, making it the first company in the Spanish energy sector to achieve this recognition. This achievement underscores its commitment to creating an inclusive and diverse environment, ensuring opportunities for all individuals.

The signing was also attended by the Director of the Energy Park La Rábida, Jorge Acitores, the Director of the Andalusian Women’s Institute, Olga Carrión, the territorial delegate for Social Inclusion, Youth, Families, and Equality in Huelva, José Manuel Borrero, the territorial delegate for Economy, Finance, European Funds, and Industry, Energy, and Mines in Huelva, Lucía Núñez, and the provincial coordinator of the Andalusian Women’s Institute, Laura Sánchez. Following the agreement at the Energy Park Moeve La Rábida headquarters, the minister held a discussion with the women in charge of volunteering and diversity, among other areas.
