The Department of Justice, Local Administration, and Public Function has called for two lines of grants aimed at training legal operators in victim assistance, Juvenile Justice, and alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation, which have been mandatory since April 3 before filing a lawsuit in some cases such as civil and commercial cases. The total budget is 36,000 euros and the deadline to apply for these funds will be open until June 30.
The call, published in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA), specifies that associations, foundations, and public or private non-profit entities legally constituted may apply for them. The grants will be distributed in a non-competitive concurrence system.
Specifically, the Department allocates 18,000 euros for the training of different operators involved in victim assistance, through services such as SAVA, and in Juvenile Justice, in centers and services where minor offenders comply with measures and work on their reeducation.
Last year, these grants were received by the Diagrama Foundation, the Atenin entity, and the Avide association.
Another 18,000 euros are earmarked for the training of Legal and Procurement professionals in the Free Justice system, as well as for mediators and mediation entities or officials of associations, foundations, and professional colleges.
In 2024, these grants were received by the Interdisciplinary Mediation Association and the Spanish Federation of Restorative Justice, within the framework of the promotion of mediation that the Department began before the entry into force of the Law on the Efficiency of the Public Justice Service, which includes the obligation to attempt alternative conflict resolution methods as a prerequisite for filing a civil or commercial lawsuit.
Applications must be submitted electronically to the unique electronic registry of the Junta de Andalucía Administration, and the Department will have a maximum of three months to resolve the request from its submission. Administrative silence will imply a positive response to the request.
Training activities may have taken place before the application, always in the current year, or must be completed by December 31, 2025.
