The University of Cordoba (UCO) began, starting on Monday, March 31, its first psychosocial risk assessment, to understand the perception of working conditions of all its staff, being the first Andalusian university to include all groups in this assessment: PDI, PTGA, and the rest of the contracted staff.

As UCO reported in a note, psychosocial risk factors are those aspects of work design and organization, as well as their social and organizational contexts, that can cause psychological or physical harm. They can affect motivation and job satisfaction and can generate stress depending on the worker’s perception and abilities to cope or respond.

Therefore, the objective of the assessment is to provide information that allows the worldwide psychosocial diagnosis of UCO and its areas and jobs. The assessment is a legal obligation and a commitment that UCO has, as an institution, with all the staff serving in this institution.

Anonymous and confidentiality

Each person will receive a link to the survey via email. The responses are directly transformed into a protected database, to which the UCO prevention service will not have access. Individual responses are encrypted in specific software.

The management of the overall results, for the presentation of the results, will only be available to the expert technicians in the evaluation of psychosocial factors of the UCO Prevention Service, Quirón Prevention. After completing the survey, this link is removed and the responses are encrypted. The link will no longer work, and the response-to-email relationship is broken.

UCO’s rector, Manuel Torralbo, appealed for participation. «This is the first time we are doing something like this at UCO, and it is a very valuable tool to be able to diagnose and take appropriate measures,» he said.

Types of surveys

All UCO staff will receive an email link to three surveys. The first is the FPSIO questionnaire, with 44 questions. It is a survey recognized by the National Institute of Work and Labor Health (Inst) and is widely used by many companies.

In addition, two additional surveys will be transmitted: an inventory on professional burnout or ingratitude (Maslach), consisting of 15 questions, and a digital disconnection questionnaire, consisting of eight questions.

To expand information and resolve doubts, the prevention service activated the website «and the publication» psycholes@uco.es «.

Also, in this interactive presentation, frequently asked questions can be consulted. The prevention service encourages the entire university community to participate in this important survey, which «will help identify opportunities for improvement and make decisions to benefit everyone.» Therefore, UCO appreciates the time and commitment in advance.
