The Minister of Justice, Local Administration, and Public Service of the Andalusian Government, José Antonio Nieto, congratulated the textile brand Cordoba Silbon, who recently presented the foundation created, for «its model to make the company, which grows, innovates, creates stable stable.
In this sense, Nieto emphasized that the 1,496 entities registered in the Andalusian Foundation Registry represent «ambitious and solidarity Andalusia», which «takes the risk of creating employment and wealth and redistributing part of its resources to allocate them to the most vulnerable» or sustainability.
The Ministry of Justice, Local Administration, and Public Service is responsible for the Protectors of Protectors of Andalusia, responsible for advising, monitoring, and ensuring legality in the Constitution and operation of these entities. Additionally, it manages the unique foundation registry, providing formal and material publicity about them.
During his visit to the Silbon facilities with the Mayor of Córdoba, José María Bellido, and the President of Córdoba Diputoca, Salvador Fuentes, the councilor detailed that there are 1,496 entities registered in the Andalusian foundation registry and almost half of them are dedicated to social care and health, as is the case of the Silbon foundation.
Nieto congratulated this «interior Andalusian company, which is no longer only known in Córdoba and Andalusia, but is a reference in Spain and in many countries», but has chosen to «maintain its roots in Córdoba», where its logistics center is located.
«Silbon has specified that it was born among a group of young people who began to delight in the pandemic and not only managed to continue investments but opted for innovation, believing in talent, reinvesting in the company, betting on training, and creating stable jobs.
Leader Andalusia without complexes
For Nieto, the fashion company Córdoba represents the leader «Andalusia that the chairman of the board, Juanma Moreno, speaks of, which dares to compete without a complex Europe (EU), something very important for Andalusia and our companies».
The councilor praised Silbon’s social commitment since its inception. «Now I want this commitment to be part of Silbon’s activity with a focus on social actions, but also on the education of children who do not have it, the commitment to environmental protection, innovation, and stable employment,» he emphasized.
«When we talk about this Andalusia that wants to execute spaces, he indicated, we also talk about a model to make a company that grows and when a company wants to risk it, it must have an administration to commit and defend it.
Therefore, the Council has taken measures for administrative simplification, to «reduce bureaucratic obstacles for commercial investments and also for foundations, digitizing procedures or replacing authorizations with responsible declarations».
Solidarity actions
On the other hand, the President of the Silbon Foundation, Juan Jurado, explained that the goal of this is the development of «all corporate social responsibility initiatives», focused on aiding the socio-economic integration of vulnerable and sustainable development.
He recalled some of the projects carried out by the company, such as donating pajamas for hospitalized children, from the NGOs Messenger of Peace, or a percentage of the money collected from the sale of bags to an Educo project, to bring books to Indian schools.
This is added to a collaboration with those affected by Dana in Valencia, with the sale of the solidarity American designer Córdoba Andrew Pocria, Silbon Forest Project, or recycling donated clothing from customers to give them a second life. Jurado explained that with the creation of the foundation «from now on, social activity will no longer be occasional but structural,» and the budget for this year is €70,000.
On his part, the company’s founder and vice president of the Silbon Foundation, Pablo López, recalled that the concern for social commitment arose ten years ago «When one of our employees had a daughter with a syndrome, we raised how to help and launched a campaign with the adult model, that image of the company.
Since then, the company has made donations through NGOs, such as the Red Cross and Caritas, «for more than €300,000, which may seem little for a multinational, but exceeds the dividends that partners have distributed in 15 years».
López also referred to Silbon Partners’ concern for sustainability. «We know that the fashion industry is one of the most polluting, but the solution is not for fashion to disappear, but to make fashion responsibly, to bet on reusing clothes, producing locally, and making quality clothing that lasts. In terms of time,» he argued.
The Mayor of Córdoba, José María Bellido, on the other hand, was «proud» of «the success story» of this Córdoba company, which he identified with when we are outside and see a Silbon suit and this is the result that I am deeply Córdoba and wanted the logistics center to be in Córdoba. «Additionally, he considered it natural to create a base, given the «concerns» that its partners have always shown.
Finally, the President of the province of Córdoba also assumed a company that started from nothing and which for us must be an example for the new generations, the best in Europe, which has been achieved with great effort. The problems of the people, taking the human part of the company over ten years and that says a lot of people who have whistled. «For the sources, they are entrepreneurs who» humanize the economy «and are an example of» any business school, but also for any public administration «.
